Add a pinctrl-single node to the switch GPIO/LED control register that disables the port LED peripheral when selected. When an RTL8231 is instantiated, this is required to prevent the user config from being overwritten by the peripheral. As this is technically not a pin mux operation, but rather a peripheral disable, using pinctrl-single for this purpose is bit of a hack, but it does the job.
